My collection of images, presented at an exhibition at the artHAUS Orakei in September 2019, is an invitation to a visual, intimate and poetic promenade through fields of textures and colours, bringing you closer to an unseen world.
It might just feel like a gentle suggestion for slowing down a little. By embracing a moment to caress with your eyes the rawness that surrounds us, you’ll be surprised to discover or rediscover that beauty can be found wherever you look for it.
In the unnoticed, and in the too often unappreciated.
For me these little moments where I get lost in a detail, in some intricate lines or in some sort of vastness, always feel like a treasure hidden away and create some warmth deep inside as time seems to stop.
Beauty can intoxicate and fill you with awe. This is the treasure that I am wishing to share.
Through my visual art, you’ll follow my wandering eye in which combine my love for delicate details, my feminine approach and some strong admiration for aesthetic as I spent a few years studying fashion in Paris, my consistent search for pretty patterns, my travel and adventure bug that brought me to New Zealand and my strong connection with nature that I nurtured during my childhood growing up in the French countryside and that I cherish now everyday in the Land of the Long White Cloud.
My camera has been my dear companion since I got given a funky Polaroid when I was 12. Regarding my paint brushes with my desire to express myself on canvases, they joined me on my journey only recently. My paintings allow me to work on movements, layers, colours and light bringing some textures to the surface and they seem to hold conversations with my images.
Like a bit looping the loop.
I hope you’ll enjoy your stroll…
